Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 798591  Size: SH
  1. Remove the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  3. Important: The hole in the right-hand side of the plenum must be used for transmission removal. Rotate the transmission as necessary to extract it from the plenum.

  4. Remove the transmission drive link socket from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232 .

  5. Object Number: 537236  Size: SH
  6. Remove the 6 screws and the transmission from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 537236  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the transmission onto the vehicle with 6 screws.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 8 N·m (70 lb in).

    Important: The socket must be fully seated on the ball.

  3. Install the transmission drive link socket to the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529 .
  4. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  5. Install the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
