Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear suspension support assembly. Refer to Rear Support Replacement in Frame and Underbody.
  2. Remove the automatic level control height sensor link on the left control arm.
  3. Remove the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  4. Remove the wheel bearing/hub. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 397546  Size: SH
  6. Remove the adjustment link retaining nut.
  7. Remove the adjustment link from the lower control arm.

  8. Object Number: 155736  Size: SH
  9. Remove the lower control arm mounting bolts and nuts.
  10. Remove the lower control arm.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 155736  Size: SH
  1. Install the lower control arm to the rear suspension support assembly.
  2. Important: Tighten the lower control arm nuts with the vehicle unsupported and resting on the wheels at the normal trim height.

  3. Install the lower control arm bolts and the nuts.
  4. Install the wheel bearing/hub. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 397546  Size: SH
  6. Install the adjustment link to the lower control arm.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the adjustment link retaining nut.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the adjustment link retaining nut to 50 N·m (36 lb ft).

  10. Install the wheel bearing/hub. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  11. Install the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  12. Install the automatic level control height sensor link on the left control arm.
  13. Install the rear suspension support assembly. Refer to Rear Support Replacement in Frame and Underbody.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the lower control arm retaining nuts to 106 N·m (78 lb ft).
