Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the cruise indicator illuminate during bulb check?

Go to Step 3

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Operate the vehicle and set the cruise control.
  3. Observe the cruise lamp parameter in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the cruise lamp is commanded On?

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the powertrain control module (PCM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for a faulty cruise indicator bulb. Refer to Instrument Cluster Bulb Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

Replace the IPC. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the repair?
