Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect the battery at the fuse block.
- Remove the MaxiFuse®
holder from the electrical center base.
- Use the following steps
in order to remove the cover from the electrical center base:
• | Remove the 2 screws on the side near the MaxiFuse® holder. |
• | Pull upward and slide the fuse to the left in order to release
the fuse block. |
• | Remove the electrical connectors from the fuse block and put them
aside. |
• | Remove the fuse block from the electrical center base. |
- Remove the 3 fasteners
(3) securing the electrical center base to the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the electrical
center base to the vehicle.
Tighten
• | Tighten the fasteners on the wheel house (1) to 2 N·m (17 lb in). |
• | Tighten the fastener (3) to 15 N·m (11 lb ft). |
- Install the electrical
connectors to the electrical fuse block.
- Install the fuse block to the electrical center base.
- Install the MaxiFuse®
holder to the electrical center base.
Tighten
Tighten the fastener securing MaxiFuse® holder to the electrical
center base to 2 N·m (17 lb in).
- Connect the battery cables to the fuse block.
