Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (2) and secure
by using the 2 tapping screws (3).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
- Push the key alarm connector (1) into the electronic lock
module assembly (4).
- Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees so
that the key alarm connector (1) locks into place.
- Install the coded key
controller (2) onto the electronic lock module assembly (1).
- Connect the connectors (1)
and (2) of the ignition and key alarm switch assembly.
Caution: Improper routing of the wire harness assembly may damage the inflatable
restraint steering wheel module coil. This may result in a malfunction of
the coil, which may cause personal injury.
- Install the wire harness strap (2) onto the upper
tilt head assembly (1).
- Install the 3 wire harness straps (3) onto the wire
harness assembly (4).
- Install the wire harness assembly (4) into the wire harness
strap (5).
- Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to
Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle

- Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle
.
- Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer
