Did you perform the Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Close all vehicle doors.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Door Ajar Switch parameters in the Driver Door Module data list.

Does the scan tool display Off for all 4 doors?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the door ajar switch that displayed On.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the suspect Door Ajar Switch parameter.

Does the scan tool display Off?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Test the signal circuit of the suspect door ajar switch for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the suspect door ajar switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the suspect door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the suspect door lock actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement or Rear Side Door Latch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 9

Replace the suspect door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement - Front or Door Control Module Replacement - Rear .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 9

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
