Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 470484 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraints.
  2. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement
  3. Remove the steering column shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
  4. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel (if equipped with traction control). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  5. Disconnect electrical connector from traction control harness if equipped and feed harness out of column. Observe the harness routing and location to assist in reassembly.
  6. Remove the Torx® head fastener from the shift lever to shift control.
  7. Pull the shift lever upward to remove it from the shift control.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 470484 Size: SH
  1. Push the shift lever downward to engage it into the shift control.
  2. Install the Torx® head fastener.
  3. Feed the traction control harness (if equipped) back throught the column. Use care to route the harness as previously observed.
  4. Install the steering column shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  5. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  6. Install the left closeout/insulator panel (if equipped with traction control). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraints.
