Squeaks and rattles are caused by improperly controlled relative motion between components. There are 3 means to prevent squeaks and rattles.
| • | Attach the components securely so there is no relative motion during operation. |
| • | Separate the components so there is no contact under operating conditions. |
| • | Insulate the components so that no sound occurs with relative motion between components. Low uniform friction surfaces can be provided to eliminate a stick-slip motion. |
