Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 257453 Size: MH
  1. Remove the hood latch striker. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Striker Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Use a small-bladed tool in order to reach through the access hole in the hood inner panel. While keeping upward pressure on the hood ornament, carefully release the tabs retaining the hood ornament.
  3. Remove the hood ornament from the plastic retainer.
  4. If the plastic retainer is damaged, complete the following steps:
    5. 4.1. Press the release tabs.
    4.2. Remove the plastic retainer from the hood.

Installation Procedure

    Important: The hood must be in a closed or secured position prior to hood ornament installation.

  1. Close the hood.

    2. Object Number: 257453 Size: MH
  2. Align the retainer to the access key hole in the hood.

    3. Install a new plastic retainer down through the hood panel.

  3. Align the hood ornament to the slot in the retainer.
  4. Snap into place in order to secure the hood ornament to the hood panel.
  5. Install the hood latch striker. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Striker Replacement in Body Front End.
