Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement in Body Rear End.
  3. Position the rear compartment trim inboard in order to access the fascia retaining nuts.

  4. Object Number: 255665  Size: SH
  5. From inside the rear compartment, remove the nuts that retain the fascia (3) to the quarter panels.
  6. Remove the retainers (4) from the fascia.
  7. Remove the maker light sockets from the lamp.
  8. Remove the rear fascia (3) from the vehicle.
  9. Remove push-in retainers (2) from the fascia filler panel (1).
  10. Remove the fascia filler panel (1), as needed.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fascia filler panel (1).
  2. Install the push-in retainers (2) to the fascia filler panel (1).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the rear fascia (3) to the vehicle.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the retainers (4) to the fascia.
  7. Install the nuts in order to retain the fascia (3) to the quarter panels.
  8. Install the marker lamp sockets to the lens.
  9. Reposition the rear compartment trim.
  10. Install the rear compartment trim.
  11. Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement in Body Rear End.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
