Did you perform the Garage Door Opener (GDO) System Check?

Inspect the IGN SEN fuse in the IP Junction Block.

Is the fuse open?

  1. Repair the short to ground in CKT 241 (BRN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. Replace the IGN SEN fuse.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 13

Test the operation of the rear defogger grid (activate the HTD BK LITE relay).

Does the HTD BK LITE relay activate?

  1. Disconnect the GDO connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) from the GDO connector terminal B to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 6

Connect a J 39200 DMM set to ohms scale from the GDO connector terminal C to ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 9

Repair the open in CKT 650 (BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the GDO connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the GDO connector terminal A and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 9

Replace the GDO. Refer to Garage Door Opener Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 241 (BRN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test for proper operation of the vanity mirror lamps and reading lamps.

Do the lamps operate properly?

Repair the open in CKT 1732. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Ensure that any of the components removed during diagnosis are installed in place and that all of the connectors are connected.
  2. Repeat the system check. Refer to Garage Door Opener System Check .
