Was the RAP System Check performed?

  1. Close all of the passenger compartment doors.
  2. Connect a scan tool.
  3. Go to the RFA Special Functions.
  4. Go to Outputs for RAP.
  5. Cycle the RAP function ON and then OFF.

Do the RAP controlled components operate?

Go to Step 3

  1. Remove the RAP relay.
  2. Use a scan tool in order to command the RAP system on.
  3. Measure the resistance between terminal 86 and ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Repair an open or a high resistance in CKT 707. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) System Check

  1. Use the scan tool in order to command the RAP system OFF.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal 85 and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair an open in CKT 742. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Measure the voltage between terminal 87 and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 8

  1. Remove the RDO/PH fuse from the rear junction block.
  2. Measure the resistance between terminal 30 and the fuse terminal.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 10

Replace the rear junction block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Remove the RAP relay.
  2. Measure the resistance between terminal 30 and terminal 87 of the relay.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 12

Replace the RAP relay.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect RFA connector.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between terminal B6 and ground.
  3. Close all of the passenger compartment doors.
  4. Cycle the ignition switch from RUN to OFF.

Do the RAP controlled components operate?

Replace the RFA module. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Replacement in Keyless Entry.
