The PASS-Key® III Theft Deterrent Module performs an internal test in order to determine if the module is in the learn coded key mode every 300 milliseconds. If the test determines that the module is in the learn coded key mode the Pass-Key® III module will indicate a learn coded key mode is current.
At the beginning of the ignition cycle the Pass-Key® III module detects a learn coded key mode.
• | DTC B2735 is stored in the Pass-Key® III module memory. |
• | No driver warning message is displayed for this DTC. |
• | The Pass-Key® III module no longer detects a learn coded key mode. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present. |
• | Use a scan tool. |
When a new module is installed into a vehicle, the Pass-Key® III module is in the learn coded key mode. Perform the Learn Key Procedure.

Perform the Theft Deterrent Diagnostic System Check before continuing with the diagnosis of this DTC.
Clear all DTCs and cycle the ignition in order to verify that the DTC did not falsely set.
Clear all DTCs after the repair procedure is complete.
