Remote Keyless Entry
The rear compartment lid opens under the following conditions:
• | The transaxle is in PARK |
• | The ignition switch is in OFF |
The courtesy lamps turn on for 15 seconds or until one of the
following conditions occur:
• | The LOCK switch is pressed |
• | The UNLOCK switch is pressed |
Theft Deterrent
The horn and the park lamps activate if the door is opened without the
theft deterrent system being deactivated.
The theft deterrent system is deactivated by using:
• | The front door key cylinders |
• | The unlock button on the transmitter |
Lock-Out Prevention
The power door locks are disable under the following conditions:
• | The key is in the ignition. |
• | The driver's door is open. |
You may override the lock-out prevention feature by pressing and holding
the driver side power door lock switch for more than 3 seconds.
Auto Door Locks (ADL)
The auto door lock (ADL) feature is activated by the shift lever. The
ADL is programmable by the owner for 4 different lock and unlock
modes for each transmitter. The vehicle default is ADL Mode 3.
| No automatic door lock or unlock. |
| All of the doors lock when the transaxle shifts out of PARK. None of
the doors unlock automatically. |
| All of the doors lock when the transaxle shifts out of PARK. The driver's
door unlocks automatically when the transaxle shifts into PARK. |
| All of the doors lock when the transaxle shifts out of PARK. All of
the doors unlock automatically when the transaxle shifts into PARK. |
In order to change the mode, refer to the following procedure:
- Turn the ignition switch to RUN
- Put the transaxle in PARK
- Close all of the doors
- Press and hold the door lock switch in the lock position
- While holding the power door lock switch, press the LOCK button
on the transmitter.
After the initial activation of the transmitter LOCK button, each additional
activation will increment the ADL mode by one, starting from the current ADL
mode. If cycled beyond ADL Mode 3, the RFA module enters ADL
Mode 0.
Delayed Locking
Delayed locking allows the driver to delay the locking of the vehicle
after the power door lock switch is pressed. A chime sounds 3 times
in order to let the driver know that the vehicle is in delayed locking
mode. The following conditions must be present in order to activate the
locking mode:
• | The lock switch is activated. |
• | The driver door is open. |
• | The key is out of the ignition switch. |
After the doors have been closed for 5 seconds, the doors lock
automatically. Opening any door before the 5 seconds elapse resets
the timer. The timer restarts once all of the doors close again.
The delayed locking program may be programmed ON or OFF for each transmitter.
The following procedure turns off the delayed locking feature (if currently
enabled):
- Hold the lock switch on
- Press the transmitter UNLOCK button:
- | All of the doors unlock |
- | The delayed locking remains enabled |
- Press the transmitter UNLOCK again:
- | The delayed locking is disabled |
The following procedure turns on the delayed locking feature (if currently
disabled):
- Hold the lock switch on
- Press the transmitter UNLOCK button:
- | The delayed locking remains disabled |
- Press the transmitter UNLOCK again:
- | All of the doors unlock |
- | The delayed locking is enabled |
Personalization
Personalization allows the driver to customize the following features
to each transmitter:
• | The auto door lock preference |
• | The delayed locking preference |
• | The perimeter lighting preference |
• | The remote activation verification |
• | The memory seat and mirror presets |
• | The climate control presets |
Perimeter Lighting
Perimeter lighting is a feature that allows the following components
to illuminate when the vehicle is unlocked using the transmitter:
Program the ON or the OFF function for each transmitter by holding the
power door lock switch and pressing the panic button on the transmitter. The
first press maintains the current status. The second press, while
the power door lock switch is pressed, toggles the status.
The horn chirps feedback while in the programming mode. One chirp means
that the perimeter is disabled. Two chirps means that the perimeter lighting
is enabled. In order to enable perimeter lighting, the remote activation
verification (RAV) mode must be set at 1, 3 or 5.
Post Crash Unlock
The keyless entry system provides the capability of unlocking all of
the doors after a deployment of the vehicle airbags. After the airbags deploy,
the body control module (SBM) sends a message to the remote function actuator
(RFA) module. After 15 seconds, the RFA module commands the doors
to unlock, unlocking all of the doors.
