  1. Disconnect the body control module (RFA) module connector.
  2. Leave the key out of the ignition switch.

Is the Key In Ignition Warning Chime on?

Go to Step 3

Test CKT 1845 (LT GRN) for a short to ground.

Is CKT 1845 shorted?

Go to Step 4

Repair CKT 1845 (LT GRN).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the body control module (SBM).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Leave the RFA module connector disconnected.
  2. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the resistance from the RFA module connector terminal A9 to ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value with the key in the ignition and infinite ohms with the key out of the ignition?

5 ohms

Go to Step 11

  1. Disconnect C206.
  2. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance from the column harness side of connector C206 terminal B8 to B4.

Is the resistance less than the specified value when the key is in the ignition and infinite ohms when the key is removed?

5 ohms

Go to Step 10

Test for a short to ground on CKT 80 (LT GRN) within the column harness.

Does a short to ground exist in CKT 80 (LT GRN)?

Replace the ignition key warning switch.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 80 (LT GRN) from the RFA module connector terminal A9 to C206 terminal B8.

Replace the RFA module.
