DTC B2458 Theater Dimming 2 Shorted to B+. Buick Park Avenue 1998

Makes 🢒 Buick 🢒 1998 🢒 Park Avenue 🢒 Body and Accessories 🢒 Body Control System 🢒 DTC B2458 Theater Dimming 2 Shorted to B+

The SBM controls the courtesy lamps for theater dimming through CKT 157.

The SBM detects a short to voltage in CKT 157.

•	DTC B2458 is stored in the SBM memory.

•	No driver warning message is displayed for this DTC.

•	A short to voltage is no longer detected by the SBM on CKT 157

•	A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the fault is no longer present.

The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction to occur:

•	An intermittent short to voltage in CKT 157

•	A short to voltage internal to the SBM

3	Repair the short to battery positive voltage in CKT 157. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you complete the repair?	--	Go to Step 5	--
4	Replace the SBM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement . Program the SBM. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration . Did you complete the repair?	--	Go to Step 5	--
5	Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Connect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed. Clear all DTCs. Did you complete the repair?	--	Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System	--
