  1. Park the vehicle outside, away from buildings, power lines and other sources of interference.
  2. Turn the ignition OFF.
  3. Turn the cellular telephone OFF.
  4. Turn audio system on.

The radio, tape or CD plays normally.

Audio System Inoperative. Refer to Radio/Audio System Check in Entertainment.

  1. Dock the telephone handset.
  2. Press the telephone PWR switch.
    • The telephone handset displays ON.
    •  The driver information center (DIC) displays PHONE ON.
    • The PHONE icon appears on the radio display.
    • The audio system chimes.
    • The audio becomes muted for 2 seconds.
    •  Steering Wheel Controls Inoperative in Entertainment
        (Verify actuation of DIC and steering wheel controls. Refer to cellular telephone installation manual.)

On the instrument panel DIC display, select PHONE INFO.

The PHONE ON displays on the DIC.

Cellular Telephone Inoperative

Hold the PHONE steering wheel control switch UP for more than 2 seconds.

    • The voice says READY through the radio speakers.
    • The audio system becomes muted.
    • The VR indicator on the cellular telephone lights.
    •  Steering Wheel Controls Inoperative in Entertainment.

Say DIAL.

The voice says NUMBER PLEASE.

Pick up the handset.

    • The radio ceases to be muted.
    • The speakers resume normal audio system play.

Using the handset, say CLEAR.

The voice says READY.

Cellular Telephone - Voice Inoperative During Hands-Free

Press END on the handset keypad or on the steering wheel control.

    • The VR indicator on the cellular telephone turns off.
    • The voice recognition ceases.

Hang up the handset.

The audio system continues to play.

Place a phone call.

    • PHONE appears on the DIC.
    • The phone call connects.
    • Phone audio sounds through the speakers.

Cellular Telephone - Voice Inoperative During Hands-Free

Terminate the call by pressing the END button on the handset.

The call disconnects.
