DEFINITION: This table diagnoses inoperative turn signals. The table assumes that the cornering lamps, hazard lamps, and turn signals on one side all operate properly.

Did you perform the Exterior Lights System Check?

  1. Disconnect the turn signal flasher connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Place the turn signal switch in the appropriate position.
  4. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between the appropriate turn signal flasher connector cavity and ground:
  5. • Left: cavity C (ORN)
    • Right: cavity B (BLK)

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Connect a fused jumper from the appropriate turn signal flasher connector cavities:

    • Left: cavity C (ORN) to cavity D (YEL)
    • Right: cavity B (BLK) to cavity F (TAN)

Do the appropriate turn lamps illuminate without flashing?

Replace the turn signal flasher. Refer to Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement .

Is the turn signal flasher replacement complete?

Repair the open in the appropriate circuit:

    • Left: CKT 57 (ORN) between S200 and the turn signal flasher
    • Right: CKT 58 (BLK) between S201 and the turn signal flasher

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in the appropriate circuit between the turn signal flasher and the IP junction block:

    • Left: CKT 685 (YEL)
    • Right: CKT 686 (TAN)
