Place the headlamp switch in the PARK position.

Do the park lamps operate properly?

  1. Disconnect the panel dimming module connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between the panel dimming module connector cavity H (BRN) and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Connect a DMM between the panel dimming module connector cavity H (BRN) and cavity K (BLK).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test CKT 8 (GRY) for an open between the panel dimming module and S212. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is there an open in CKT 8?

Test CKT 8 (GRY) for a short to ground. Refer to Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is there a short to ground in CKT 8?

Replace the panel dimming module.

Is the panel dimming module replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 9 (BRN) between the IP junction block and the panel dimming module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 450 (BLK) between the panel dimming module and G201. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
