Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 39500-B Air Conditioning Refrigerant, Recycling and Recharging (ACR4) System


    Object Number: 247113  Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the evaporator line fastener.

  3. Object Number: 247119  Size: SH
  4. Remove the A/C accumulator tubes from the evaporator.

  5. Object Number: 247218  Size: SH
  6. Remove the A/C accumulator tube from the accumulator.
  7. Remove the accumulator tube from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

J 39400 Electronic Halogen Leak Detector

  1. Install the A/C accumulator tube to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the A/C accumulator tube to the accumulator.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the connection to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the A/C accumulator tube to the evaporator.

  6. Object Number: 247113  Size: SH
  7. Install the evaporator line fastener.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C accumulator tube connection to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  10. Test the A/C system for leaks using the J 39400 . Refer to Leak Testing .
