The inside air temperature sensor is a temperature sensitive resistor. As the temperature increases, the resistance decreases. As the temperature decreases, the resistance increases.

A hose is connected to the inside air temperature sensor. This hose continually draws passenger compartment air over the sensor, increasing the accuracy of the temperature reading.

The heater and A/C programmer monitors the inside air temperature signal. The programmer uses this information in order to determine command signals.
