The filters are located in the HVAC module in front of the evaporator core. These filters clean the fresh air before entering the HVAC module.
The filter housing is located in the front left corner of the HVAC module, near the accelerator pedal. Pull down on the filter access cover in order to reach the filters.
The HVAC air filter assembly consists of three separate interlocking elements. Each of the filters are identical in appearance and operation. Remove and install the filters one at a time. Slightly bend the filters to aid in the installation and the removal. Each filter element has a tab at the lower left corner to assist in the installation and the removal. The channelled tab on the filter helps to align the interlocking feature of the filters.
Change the filters every 12 months or 1 9312 km (12,000 miles), whichever comes first. The filters may require more frequent change intervals, depending upon driving conditions.
