Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 292142  Size: SH
  1. Remove the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the body control module and the HVAC programmer from the brackets and lay aside.
  4. Disconnect the IP relay and fuse junction block lower electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the bolts and the nut.
  6. Turn the relay block in order to disconnect the upper electrical connectors.
  7. Remove the IP fuse and relay junction block.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the air inlet actuator.
  9. Remove the air inlet actuator retaining screws (1).

  11. Remove the air inlet actuator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air inlet actuator.

  2. Object Number: 292142  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the air inlet retaining screws (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the air inlet actuator.
  6. Connect the IP fuse and relay block upper electrical connectors.
  7. Position the relay block.
  8. Install the bolts and the nut.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 8 N·m (80 lb in).

  10. Connect the lower relay block electrical connectors.
  11. Install the body control module and the HVAC programmer into the appropriate brackets.
  12. Install the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  13. Install the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
