Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  2. Object Number: 292142  Size: SH
  3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  4. Remove the body control module and the HVAC programmer from the brackets and lay aside.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the passenger air mix actuator.
  6. Remove the passenger air mix actuator retaining screws (1).

  8. Remove the passenger air mix actuator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the passenger air mix actuator.

  2. Object Number: 292142  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the passenger air mix retaining screws (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1 N·m (12 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the passenger air mix actuator.
  6. Install the body control module and the HVAC programmer into the appropriate brackets.
  7. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  8. Important: After the actuator has been replaced, the actuator must be recalibrated for proper travel. The ignition must be cycled on for 3 minutes in order to allow the programmer and the actuators time to recalibrate for proper travel.

  9. Install the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
