The tire pressure monitor system can alert the driver when a large change in the pressure of one tire exist. The system only detects a low pressure condition while the vehicle is being driven. Once a low tire pressure condition is detected, the system informs the driver that a low tire pressure condition exist, whenever the ignition switch is in the RUN position.

The TIRE PRESSURE LOW: CHECK TIRES message appears on the instrument cluster message center display if the tire pressure in one tire becomes at least 55 kPa (10 psi) lower or higher than the other three tires and the ignition switch is in the RUN position. The message does not appear if more than one tire is low or high, or if the system is not calibrated properly. The system does not inform the driver which tire is low. To clear this message, equalize the tire pressures in all four tires and perform the system reset procedure.
