Was the entire Brake Warning System Check performed?

Check the Brake Fluid Level.

Is the brake fluid level OK?

Go to Brake Fluid Inspection

  1. Ignition switch in RUN.
  2. Using a scan tool, select the IPC inputs Menu.
  3. Select the brake fluid level input.

Is the brake fluid level input ON?

Go to step 4

Go to step 7

  1. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch.
  2. Select the brake fluid level input.

Is the brake fluid level input ON?

Go to step 5

Go to step 11

  1. Ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect the IPC connector.
  3. Connect a DMM from the IPC connector terminal B15 (ORN/BLK) to ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to step 6

Go to step 13

Repair short to ground in circuit 1684 (ORN/BLK)

Is the repair complete?

Select the park brake input.

Is the park brake input ON?

Go to Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check

  1. Disconnect the park brake switch.
  2. Select the park brake input.

Is the park brake input ON?

Go to step 9

Go to step 12

  1. Ignition switch in OFF.
  2. Disconnect the IPC connector.
  3. Connect a DMM from IPC connector terminal B14 (LT BLU) to ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to step 10

Repair short to ground in circuit 1134 (LT BLU).

Is the repair complete?

Replace brake fluid level switch. Refer to brake fluid level switch replacement.

Replace park brake switch. Refer to park brake switch replacement.
