Removal Procedure
Tools Required
J 34730 Fuel Pressure
Gauge
- Relieve the fuel system fuel pressure. Refer to the
Fuel Pressure Relief
.
- Remove the rear trim panel (1). Refer to Compartment Trim Panel
Replacement - Rear.
- Remove the bolts from the fuel sender access panel (2).
- Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical sensor connector.
- Remove the fuel tank pressure
sensor from the sender.
Installation Procedure
- Install the new fuel tank
vapor pressure sensor into the modular fuel sender.
- Install the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical sensor connector.
- Install the fuel sender access panel (2) bolts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2N·m (18 lb in)
- Install the rear trim panel (1). Refer to Compartment Trim Panel
Replacement - Rear.
- Install the fuel tank filler pipe cap.
- Install the negative battery cable.
