1. Engine running.
2. Connect a scan tool and monitor the voltage.

Is the voltage greater than the specified value?

10.6 Volts

Go to Step 2

Go to Step 4

1. Turn key to the LOCK position.
2. Disconnect the PCM connector C2.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Is the volt indicator or check gauges message with engine telltale still on?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster in Instrument Panel Gauges and Console.

Go to Step 3

Perform the generator electrical test. Refer to Generator Not Operating Properly .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Charging System Check

Check for open or poor contact terminal at the PCM connector C2.
