Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-94B Engine Support Fixture Adapter
    • J 28467-330 Engine Support Fixture Adapter
    • J 28467-350 Engine Support Fixture Adapter

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Install the J 28467-A .

  4. Object Number: 61742  Size: SH
  5. Remove the engine mount to engine mount bracket nuts.

  6. Object Number: 61726  Size: SH
  7. Remove the engine mount to engine mount bracket studs.
  8. Remove the engine mount bracket nuts.
  9. Remove the engine mount bracket studs and spacers.
  10. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  11. For Engine Code 1, remove the supercharger drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  12. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump in Power Steering Gear and Pump. Set the power steering pump aside.
  13. Disconnect the coil pack assembly and set aside.
  14. Remove the coolant pump pulley.

  16. Remove the engine mount bracket.

  18. Remove the engine mount nuts and bolts.

  19. Object Number: 61723  Size: SH
  20. Remove the engine mount.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine mount.

  2. Object Number: 61725  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine mount bolts and nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 78 N·m (58 lb ft).

  5. Install the coolant pump pulley.
  6. Install the drive belt to the lower pulley.

  8. Install the engine mount bracket studs and spacers.
  9. Tighten

        • Tighten the nuts closest to the A/C compressor to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
        • Tighten the other nuts to 78 N·m (58 lb ft).
  10. Install the engine mount bracket nuts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 78 N·m (58 lb ft).

  12. Install the coil pack.
  13. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
  14. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  15. Object Number: 61742  Size: SH
  16. Install the engine mount to engine mount bracket studs.
  17. Install the engine mount to engine mount bracket nuts.
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 78 N·m (58 lb ft).

  19. Remove J 28467-A .
  20. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
