Removal Procedure

    Notice: Remove the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, before the oil pan is removed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil pan is removed first.

  1. Remove the oil level sensor. Refer to Oil Level Sensor Replacement in Engine Controls..
  2. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 26202  Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil pump pipe screen bolts.
  5. Remove the oil pump screen.
  6. Remove the gasket.
  7. Use solvent in order to clean the screen and the housing. Blow dry the screen and the housing.
  8. Clean the gasket mating surfaces.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Install the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, after the oil pan is installed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil level sensor is installed first.

  1. Install the oil pump screen gasket.
  2. Install the oil pump screen.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the oil pump screen bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  6. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  7. Install the oil level sensor. Refer to Oil Level Sensor Replacement in Engine Controls.
