Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-A Engine Support Adapter
    • J 28467-94B Engine Support Fixture Adapter
    • J 28467-330 Engine Support Fixture Adapter
    • J 28467-350 Engine Support Fixture Adapter
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting in General Information.
  2. Remove the front lower splash shield.
  3. Drain the coolant. Refer Draining and Filling the Coolant System in Engine Cooling.
  4. Close the radiator drain cock. Install the front splash shield.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Install the J 28467-A to the engine.
  7. Remove the supercharger belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  8. Remove the ignition module.
  9. Remove the supercharger belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  10. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  11. Remove the torque axis engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
  12. Remove the power steering pump. Set the pump aside. Refer to Power Steering Pump in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
  13. Remove the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement .

  14. Object Number: 36689  Size: SH
  15. Remove the idler pulley bolt.
  16. Remove the idler pulley.
  17. Remove the pulley bracket bolts.
  18. Remove the pulley bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 36689  Size: SH
  1. Install the pulley bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the pulley bracket bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the idler pulley.
  6. Install the idler pulley bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  8. Install the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement .
  9. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
  10. Install the torque axis engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
  11. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  12. Install the supercharger belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  13. Install the ignition module.
  14. Install the supercharger belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  15. Remove the J 28467-A .
  16. Refill the coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling the Coolant System in Engine Cooling.
