Missing Hood Assist Rod - keywords lift strut

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some dealers or customers may comment that one of the hood assist rods (strut) is missing.

This is a normal condition. No action is required. Vehicles built after 4/22/05 will have only one Hood Assist Rod (Strut) installed.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
