Removal Procedure

  1. Open the instrument panel (IP) storage compartment door.
  2. Remove the IP storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 639649  Size: SH
  4. Remove the fasteners (2) that secure the IP compartment striker (1) to the upper area of the IP.
  5. Remove the IP compartment striker.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 639649  Size: SH
  1. Align the instrument panel (IP) compartment striker (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the IP compartment striker fasteners (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Close the IP compartment door.
  6. Adjust the striker by loosening the fasteners (2) and repositioning the striker as necessary.
  7. Install the IP storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement .
