Subject:Supplement to TSB 05-08-50-003 Heated Seat Inoperative

Models:2002-2005 Buick LeSabre

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:

After replacing the heated seat element and module with the latest part number and the vehicle continues to have an intermittent heated seat inoperative. Perform the heated seat inoperative diagnosis per SI to check for a concern related to the seat wiring or heating element that could cause an excessive current draw under certain conditions. The Heated Seat Module is built with internal protection that will shut the module down if the output circuits draw in excess of 7 Amps. This may lead to unnecessary replacement of the heated seat module.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If diagnosis per SI leads to a repeat replacement of the heated seat module and there are no concerns found with the seat wiring or elements, please call GM Technical Assistance for additional diagnosis

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
