Subject: | Service VME - Seat Clunk or Noise |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Owners may encounter a seat clunk or noise from the front driver or passenger seat when making a right or left turn. The noise is created when the plastic seat cushion platform anchors makes contact with the metal seat adjuster rails. This concern is located in the rear section of the front seat. The metal seat adjuster rails have a rectangular hole in which the plastic anchors are mounted through the rectangular holes to fasten down the seat to the adjuster. The plastic anchors have a hook-type appearance. When making a turn the weight of the seat will create the plastic anchors to make contact with the side of the metal frame. To eliminate this concern, split two pieces of vacuum hose and install the vacuum hoses on both sides of the metal frame to reduce the clearance. It is also necessary to separate the seat from the metal seat adjuster frame to make the repair.
