Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the tail/back
up lamp harness connector from the from the body wiring harness.
- Remove the tail/back up lamp assembly from the rear compartment
lid.
- While supporting the tail/back up lamp assembly, unplug the tail/back
up lamp harness grommet from the rear compartment lid and remove the tail/back
up lamp from the vehicle.
- Remove the fastener securing the license plate lamp assembly to
the tail/backup lamp assembly.
- Remove the license plate lamp housing from the tail/backup lamp
assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Install the license plate
bulb socket into the lamp housing.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fastener
in order to secure the license plate lamp to the tail/backup lamp assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the license plate lamp fastener to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- While supporting the tail/back up lamp assembly, install the tail/back
up lamp harness grommet to the rear compartment lid and install the tail/back
up lamp.
- Install the tail/back up lamp fasteners to the tail/back up
lamp studs.
Tighten
Tighten the tail/back up lamp fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Connect the tail/back up lamp electrical connector.
- Connect the tail/back up lamp harness connector and clip the connector
to the metal edge of the rear compartment lid.
