Wiper Arm Pressure Check
- Run the wiper arms to the mid-wipe position.
- Remove the blades from the wiper arms.
- Attach a scale to the wiper arm attaching pin and measure the
force required to lift the wiper arm perpendicular to the windshield to normal
working height (height with the blade attached).
- If the force required is not within the specifications given below,
the wiper arm should be replaced.
Tip Pressure
The tip pressure should be 8.3-10.1 Newtons (30-36 oz).
Blade Element Set Check
Remove the wiper blades from the wiper arms. Look down the length of
the blade element. The rubber element which contacts the glass must be on
the centerline of the blade +/-15 degrees. Replace the element
if necessary.
