1. Remove the crankshaft balancer and bolt. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement.

Important: Do not damage the seal bore or the seal contact surfaces.




2. Pry out the seal with a screwdriver.

Tools Required

J 35354 Seal Installer

1. Use the J 35354 in order to install the seal.

•	Use the crankshaft balancer bolt with the tool.

•	Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt until the crankshaft seal is seated in the cover.

2. Remove the J 35354 .
3. Coat the outside surface of the crankshaft balancer with GM P/N 10522497 lubricant or equivalent.
4. Remove the crankshaft balancer and bolt. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
