RADIO NOISE ON AM BAND DURING ACCELERATION -P/N FOR EVRV

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986 'A', 'C', 'E' AND 'H' Models With 3.8L SFI Engine (B & 3) 1986 "G" Models with 3.8L SFI Turbo Engine (7)

If a condition of a buzz noise during acceleration is noted in the radio speakers on AM, the Electronic Vacuum Regulating Valve (EVRV) may be at fault.

Internal radio noise suppression was added to the EVRV. Replace old EVRV, part number 25522717, with new EVRV, part number 25527186, which has added noise suppression. If vehicle already has EVRV, part number 25527186; then the EVRV is probably not the source of the noise.

Be sure to follow applicable diagnostic procedures in the Chassis Service Manual.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
