LOCKING WIRE WHEEL COVERS 1986 MODELS WITH OPTION N91. Buick LeSabre 1986

MODELS AFFECTED: ALL 1986 MODELS

The custom locking wire wheel cover package (Option N91) is shipped in the trunk comparment.

At the time of delivery of a new vehicle by the carrier, the contents of the package containing Option N91 are to be inspected for missing or incorrect parts. The contents of Option N91 should include:

Four (4) Wire Wheel Covers with Lock Nuts/Bolts Four (4) Lock Brackets Four (4) Medallions One (1) Lock Key Wrench One (1) I.D./Registration Card and Instructions Twelve (12) Flange Lug Nuts (Installed on Wheels)

NOTICE: Some 1986 Skylark, Somerset and Century models have only (6) six flanged lug nuts installed on rear wheels and two (2) lock brackets in the trunk package. 1986 Electra and Riviera trunk package also contains twelve (12) anti-rotation clips.

Any discrepancies are to be noted on the delivery receipt and a transportation claim is to be filled out for any missing or incorrect parts.

Replacement of Missing, Incorrect or Lost Parts

Lock key wrenches and/or I.D. Registration Cards are available from Norris Industries, Inc.

A. Lock key wrench missing upon delivery of vehicle from factory or lost at dealership after delivery:

Send I.D./Registration Card along with a check in the amount of $8.00 for the replacement lock, key wrench to Norris Industries, Inc.

B. I.D./Registration Card missing:

Provide Norris Industries, Inc. with the color of the stripe and/or letter stamped in the shaft on the lock key wrench. A new color coordinated I.D./Registration Card will be forwarded to the dealership.

C. Lock key wrench does not fit lock bolt or nut:

Send lock key wrench and I.D./Registration Card to Norris Industries, Inc. with a letter indicating the color of the lock bolt or nut in the center of the locking wire wheel cover. The proper lock key wrench and I.D./Registration Card will be returned to the dealership.

D. I.D./Registration Card and "T" shaped lock key wrench both missing:

Provide the color of the lock bolt/nut in the center of the wire wheel cover, along with a check in the amount of $8.00 made payable to Norris Industries, Inc.

Parts Ordering

All requests for lock key wrenches and I.D./Registration Cards must be made on dealership stationary to:

When the vehicle is being made ready for delivery, the lock brackets are to be installed prior to installation of the wire wheel cover and medallions.

1. Raise vehicle with lift equipment.

2. Remove three (3) lug nuts from each wheel for lock bracket installation. Somerset and second type Century.

NOTICE: 1986 Skylark, Somerset and Second Type Century front-wheel covers are retained by the drive axles; therefore, they do not require lock brackets.

3. Place lock bracket on lug nut studs.

4. Install three (3) special lug muts on each wheel to retain lock bracket and torque to specifications. LOOSE CONDITION OF LOCK BRACKET WILL BE NORMAL. WHEN LUG NUTS ARE SEATED, FRONT WHEEL STUDS WILL HAVE A RECESSED APPEARANCE, WHICH IS NORMAL.

5. Install adapter or anit-rotation clips if required.

6. Align valve notch in wire wheel cover with valve stem on wheel. For center retention covers (Electra, LeSabre, Riviera, second type Skylark and Somerset, and second type Century) place cover on wheel by hand only. DO NOT USE A HAMMER TO INSTALL COVERS. A rubber mallet may be required to install covers that have an outer rim retention design.

7. Tighten lock nut or bolt by turning lock key wrench clockwise. This will secure the wire wheel cover.

8. Snap in center medallion.

9. Install the Wire Wheel Cover Removal Instruction label as required.

10. The lock key wrench is to be placed in the glove boz or trunk compartment as explained in the installation instructions. Place the I.D./Registration Card in the glove box.

The procedure for removal and installation is to be explained to the owner prior to delivery.

Other missing or incorrect part(s) such as locking wire wheel cover(s), lock bracket(s), medallion(s) and special lock nuts or bolt(s) are available through GMWDD.
