METRI-PACK SERIES 150 TERMINAL REMOVAL
Some connectors used to connect various sensors to the ECM Harness are Metri- Pack Series 150 as shown in Figure A. (The example shown is a three terminal type.) These connectors may be used at the cam, crankshaft, and coolant sensors, along with ignition modules.
Terminals in these connectors are the pull-to-seat type. The wire is inserted through the seal (5) and connector body (4). The terminal (1) is crimped to the stripped wire, then pulled back into the connector body until it is locked in place.
To remove the terminals (1), first slide the seal (5) back on the wires, then insert tool (3) BT-8448 or J35689-A, as shown in Figure B.
To release the terminal, push the wire and terminal through the connector. If reusing the terminal, reshape the locking tang (2).
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
