Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 363811 Size: SH

    Warning:  When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Open and support the hood.
  2. Use a small flat-bladed tool to lift up the retainer clips on the assist rod.

    3. Caution: Refer to Liftgate Assist Rod Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Remove the upper end of the assist rod from the ball joint on the hood.
  4. Remove the lower end of the assist rod from the ball joint on the lower hood hinge.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 625128 Size: SH
  1. Install the upper end of the assist rods on to the ball joint on the hood.

    2. Object Number: 625126 Size: SH
  2. Install the lower end of the assist rods on to the ball joint on the lower hood hinge
  3. Remove the support from the hood.
  4. Close the hood.
