Removal Procedure
- Remove the front door frame applique. Refer to Front Door Frame Applique Replacement.
- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.
- Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement.
- Remove the outside rear view mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement.
- Remove the front door inner window belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement.
- Position the window to the full down position.
- Remove the front door window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement.
- Remove the bolt (3) from the window channel retainer (2).
- Drill out the 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets (1) along the inside edge of the window channel retainer.
- Remove the window channel retainer from the door.
Caution: Refer to Paint Damage Caution in the Preface section.
Installation Procedure
- Install the window channel retainer to the door.
- Install the new 4 mm (5/32 in) rivets (1) along the inside edge of the window channel retainer.
- Install the bolt (3) to the window channel retainer (2).
- Install the front door window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement.
- Inspect the window for proper operation.
- Install the front door frame applique. Refer to Front Door Frame Applique Replacement.
- Install the front door inner window belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement.
- Install the outside mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement.
- Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement.
- Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Install the front door window weatherstrip by working it around the door frame. Ensure that the weatherstrip is fully seated into the window channel retainer.
