Makes 🢒 Buick 🢒 2009 🢒 LaCrosse 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 3.8L 🢒 Engine Block Plug Installation

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 589370 Size: SH
  1. Install the threaded oil gallery plugs and tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

    2. Object Number: 1646930 Size: SH
  2. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the threads of the engine block heater.
  3. Install the engine block heater and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    4. Object Number: 26198 Size: SH
  4. Install the remaining oil gallery plugs using GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or the equivalent.

    5. Object Number: 875115 Size: SH
  5. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or the equivalent to the threads of the knock sensor.
  6. Install the knock sensors and tighten to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
  7. Install the knock sensor heat shield and bolts, if applicable and tighten the knock sensor heat shield bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
