Generator Bracket Replacement LY7
Removal Procedure
- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Remove the generator. Refer to
Generator Replacement.
- Remove the coolant inlet pipe lower bolt from the generator bracket.
- Remove the belt tensioner. Refer to
Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement.
- Remove the generator bracket bolts.
- Remove the generator bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the generator bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the generator bracket bolts.
Tighten the generator bracket bolts in the sequence shown:
Tighten
- Tighten the generator bracket bolts (1) to 50 N·m (37 lb in).
- Tighten the generator bracket bolts (2) to 50 N·m (37 lb in).
- Tighten the generator bracket bolt (3) to 23 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install the belt tensioner. Refer to
Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement.
- Install the coolant inlet pipe lower bolt from the generator bracket.
- Install the generator. Refer to
Generator Replacement.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the generator. Refer to
Generator Replacement

- Remove the idle pulley. Refer to
Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement
.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the lower tensioner bolt and rotate the tensioner to access the generator bracket bolt.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the generator bracket bolts.
- Remove the generator bracket from the stud.
Installation Procedure
- Install the generator bracket to the stud.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the generator bracket bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the lower generator bracket bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the lower tensioner bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the idler pulley. Refer to
Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement

- Install the generator. Refer to
