with Automatic Temperature Control HVAC System (RPO CJ2)



Condition

Some customers may comment of any or all of the following conditions:

    • The heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system outside air temperature (OAT) does not update after ignition off time is greater than three hours. This may result in the HVAC system blowing hot air when the customer is expecting cool or cold air after the vehicle is restarted.
    • The HVAC control head buttons do not respond to customer input or excessive time is required for customer to activate function.

Update the HVAC control head software.

Do not replace the HVAC control head.

Technicians are to reprogram the HVAC control head with an updated software calibration. This new service calibration was released with TIS satellite data update version 5.0 which was made available May 2, 2005. As always, make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version. DO NOT replace the HVAC control head for these conditions.
