Water Leak from Front Center Headliner or Overhead Console - keyword antenna body cell cellular lamp light onstar roof seal

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Cellular communications antenna unseated causing water to leak from the front center of the headliner or from the overhead console if equipped.

Due to the design of the upper brush operation on some automatic car washes, it could be possible for the upper brush to unseat the communications antenna. If the antenna is unseated, this could cause a water leak at the headliner or map light area. This also may cause a slight distortion in the roof panel if this occurs. Customers should use caution and check with the wash facility manager prior to using the automatic car wash.

If a water leak is found to be coming from the communications antenna, loosen the mounting bolt for the antenna, reposition the antenna, then torque the mounting bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in). Refer to SI Document ID # 1465701 for further details on servicing the antenna.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
