Use one of these two methods for clearing Diagnostic Trouble
Codes (DTCs) in the Body Control Module (BCM) memory:
• | The scan tool (Tech 2) method. |
• | The ignition cycle default method. |
These methods will not clear BCM DTCs:
• | Unplugging the BCM electrical connectors. |
• | Disconnecting the battery cables. |
• | Turning the ignition switch off (except on an ignition cycle default). |
Important: Test for proper BCM operation and the absence of DTCs after completing
the clearing procedure:
• | DTC P1626 will set in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
when the ignition switch is on with the Body Control Module (BCM) disconnected. |
Scan Tool Method
Refer to the scan tool (Tech 2) user's manual for menu navigation instructions.
Ignition Cycle Default
The Body Control Module (BCM) clears a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)
automatically when the malfunction that set such DTC does not occur for 100
ignition cycles.
