ENG. COOL FAN RUNS EXCESSIVELY FAULTY FAN SHUTOFF DELAY RELAY

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985 'A' Model With 3.8L MFI Engine (VIN Code 3) ------------------------------------------------

Reports have been received where the engine cooling fan runs on high speed continuously. Starting approximately twenty (20) seconds after ignition is turned on and continuing to run until approximately ten (10) minutes after the ignition is turned off, regardless of engine temperature. An owner may com ment that ty,e cooling fan runs excessively, is noisy, or of an excessive battery drain with key in the on position and car not running.

If the above described condition is occurring, it may be caused by the engine cooling fan shutoff delay relay, part number 25519764. This relay is located in the rearward position of the relay centre on the left inner fender. Check the relay for proper operation and replace if required.
